PAS 9760/DI : 16 Channel VME Change
of State Card
Links to printable product info:
Precision Analog Systems' "Change of State" card allow
customers to detect changes on their input data with one microsecond
resolution. These changes or patterns are stored in onboard
FIFO's so that data can be transferred when VME bus bandwidth is
available.
The Change of State card monitors its input signals for changes.
When a change of state occurs, the card loads the data value and
a time stamp into the onboard FIFO. The time value is provided
by the card's 31 bit 1 microsecond clock. Whenever the FIFO
goes from empty to containing new time and data information, a VME
interrupt is generated.
The Change of State card contains FIFO's that are 32 bits wide and
512 locations deep. The 1 microsecond clock register is 32
bits wide; however the card uses the most significant bit as an
overflow status indicator. In systems containing several boards,
one board can be designated the master and used to enable all of
the other clock registers. All clock registers can be incremented
from the VME system clock or from their onboard oscillators.
